Digestion systems
The IKA digestion system AOD 1 is an oxidative pressure digestion system.
It is designed for solid and liquid organic samples which are burned in a closed digestion vessel under oxygen pressure.
The halogens (fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine) and sulfate are collected in an absorption template which is placed in the digestion vessel. These can then be determined, for example, using ion chromatography, ISE, photometry or titrations.
The vessels are made of a high-alloy stainless steel, which is especially resistant to chlorine.
Due to the globally unique self-regenerating catalytic inner surface in the digestion vessel, higher recovery rates of 98-100% are achieved compared to conventional digestion vessels, whereby typical digestion times of 2 to 3 minutes are achieved.
The digestion process is used in the following standards, among others:
DIN 51727, DIN EN 14582, EPA Method 5050, ASTM D808, ASTM E775, ASTM E776, ASTM D3761, ASTM D4208
Ident No: 0008801300
The AOD 1 digestion system serves the combustion digestion of liquid and solid organic and partly inorganic samples under pressure in a closed system.
The system consists of: AOD 1.1 FZ digestion vessel, C 48 oxygen station, AOD 1.2 remote igniter, AOD 1.11 control standard (50 ml)
quantitative digestion of all halogens, sulfur and volatile metals such as As and Hg
absorption of the combustion products in an aqueous medium
catalytic Support of the oxidation process through self-regenerating catalytic inner wall of the exclusion vessel
pressure vessel made of high-alloy stainless steel
digestion temperature up to 1,200 ° C
maximum pressure during digestion 195 bar
Digestion time <3 min
Digestion vessel can be converted to the disposable crucible C 14
Control standards for Cl, S (AOD 1.11)
Introduction of the combustion gases into an absorption
template via the venting station C 7030 The functional principle is based on the "bomb digestion method" according to DIN 51577, part 1 of 1982.
Other relevant standards:
- DIN / EN 14582, characterization of waste, halogen and sulfur content
- DIN 51727, testing of solid fuels, determination of the chlorine content
